The Henry & Stark County Health Departments and First Choice Healthcare announce their new “12 Communities, 12 Months” outreach initiative for 2023. The initiative calls for Health Department & First Choice Healthcare staff going out to 1 Henry and Stark County community each month to conduct a special outreach event that will focus on all the public and clinic health services that are available to our local residents.  In addition, special health designations of importance will be noted throughout the year at these events.   

RaeAnn Tucker, Director of Health Promotion with the Henry and Stark County Health Departments states, “This is really a great ‘grass roots, boots on the ground’ health awareness and promotion activity for our staff.  We really want to remind our local residents about the vast array of services available through our offices and clinic locations in Kewanee and Colona.”

The Health Departments & First Choice Healthcare are kicking off “12 Communities, 12 Months” in Kewanee; as they will be conducting a special outreach display on Thursday, January 26 from 9:00am-11:00am in the lobby of People’s National Bank, 207 N. Tremont St., Kewanee. Our January display will focus on January’s designation as Radon Action Month.  Our Environmental Health staff will have Radon Home Testing kits available for a special cost of only $10.  In addition, will we have Free Covid-19 Home Tests available, free giveaways, and lots of health information.

Tucker adds, "We believe this is going to be a great event as there will be something for everyone interested in getting some great information, taking advantage of free giveaways, promotions, maybe some health screenings, and just partaking in a pleasant time visiting and talking with our staff.  The Department and First Choice Healthcare is happy to have this year-long opportunity to showcase the many programs and services available to our area residents and families."
